Part-Dieu or Perrache: where to stay?

Lyon has two city-centre stations. They are in different places with a different feel: check your ticket first to see which one you need.

In short: Choose Part-Dieu if you travel for work, fly or take a TGV: it is the main station, with a direct link to the airport. Choose Perrache if you come to visit: it sits at the south of the Presqu’île, 15 minutes’ walk from Bellecour. Tram T1 links the two stations.

Check your station

Many TGVs stop only at Part-Dieu; some continue to Perrache. A hotel within walking distance of the right station saves time, especially with luggage or an early train.

Depending on your plans

  • Trade fair at Eurexpo, match or concert in Décines: Part-Dieu, where tram T3 starts.
  • Early flight or late arrival by plane: Part-Dieu, walking distance from the Rhônexpress.
  • City break over a weekend: Perrache or the Presqu’île itself, everything on foot.
  • Shopping and the Musée des Confluences: Perrache, a few tram stops from Confluence.
